The material and product specification stage collates and documents all the material finishes within the interior scheme, such as wood veneers, specialist glass, and soft furnishings including wall and floor coverings.
In addition, products such as sanitary and kitchenware, lighting and audiovisual systems, furniture and door ironmongery are sourced from international suppliers and documented.
At this stage RMD will also research and include specialist items such as interior lifts and air conditioning.
If at this stage it is not possible to source a product to fulfill the requirements of the scheme, RMD will design for specialist custom-manufactured pieces.
Once the products and proposed finishes have been presented to and approved by the client, the information will be recorded in a document - outlining the supplier details, dimensions, finishes and time allocated to manufacture.
Each item and material is graphically represented on a separate page with its own code number, which in turn is annotated as required onto the detail drawing sheets. This helps the shipyard to understand the relationships between the detail design, finishes and products.
